The weapons all sound like they're cap guns. There are historical inaccuracies up the wazoo. The environments were very nicely done but everything else was just garbage. If not a little Michael Bay ish.Ĭall of Duty World War II was visually beautiful. I will say that the zero-gravity combat was pretty cool. The settlement defense front as they called themselves were probably one of the most cartoony styles of villains ever. But the characters were all one-dimensional and boring. Infinite Warfare was visually distinctive and I liked the nonlinear level design set up. Advanced Warfare had some nice ideas but overall it was excessively boring. I dabbled in advanced Warfare through a rental service as well as infinite Warfare. The first Black Ops game I felt more like I was taking part in a Tom Clancy novel.īut in case you're curious. World at War was probably in my mind the best of the Call of Duty games that are set during World War II because unlike a lot of the other ones were it's more action movie World at War at least felt more grounded in reality. Even though the stories in a lot of the games especially the ones set in hypothetical conflicts like the conflicts taking part during the Modern Warfare trilogy which strategically would be absolutely impossible for the Russians to even do the first modern warfare was it least interesting because for a lot of people younger than myself Modern Warfare was the introduction to Call of Duty for a lot of people. Nowadays things like politics and everything have to be brought in. The main problem that I have with Call of Duty is that it's lost the subtle charm that it used to have that made it the amazing thing that it was back in the days when it was only on PC. I like the idea of it but I didn't like the majority of the characters.
